(Chicago, Ill.) – The producers of Chicago’s WingFest www.wingfest.net present an end of summer food competition of pig size proportions with HogFight returning for the third coming on Sunday, September 4th, 2016 at Mahoney’s Pub & Grille, located at 551 North Ogden Avenue in Chicago. HogFight is a whole-hog competition pitting select Chicagoland chefs against one another to declare one the HogMaster and take home $1,000 in cash, and it all benefits Variety – The Children’s Charity http://variety.org/.
Previous notable chefs that have participated in HogFight include Brian Jupiter of Frontier http://thefrontierchicago.com/, Joshua Marrelli of Chop Shop http://www.chopshopchi.com/, and Cory Morris of Mercat a la Planxa http://mercatchicago.com/.
This year, up to ten area chefs will participate, each utilizing a 100 pound pig fresh from Slagel Family Farm http://www.slagelfamilyfarm.com/. Each chef will submit loin, shoulder, belly and ham portions in a double-blind judged competition where each category will have a winner and one overall HogMaster will be selected and awarded $1,000 cash.
HogFight will provide attendees with 1,000 pounds of all-you-can-eat pork for only $20 per person with 20% of the ticket sales going to Variety – The Children’s Charity. HogFight will take place rain or shine at Mahoney’s utilizing their ample outdoor patio, their airy cantina, and spacious indoor bar, too. Tickets will be $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event, if available. A limited amount of tickets will be sold for this event, and tickets are now on sale at www.HogFight.com.
